How do I turn off smart spell when trying to enter contacts or text?

i don't like phones that try to anticipate what i'm thinking, i especially don't like it when they get it wrong and waste my time. so how do i turn the smart spell off PERMANENTLY on my flip phone, i just want to use my pad keys cause i know what i'm trying to spell.

You must be talking about T9 mode...

Try this: when go here Messages -> Create a Message, select Options -> Set T9 -> Select Off
