Is there a voice-only PDA phone that will work with Telus but doesn’t require you to pay extra data charges?

Hi Im new to the site.
Currently, I am trying to replace a voice-only phone that still has one more year on the contract. Im looking for a phone with a built-in PDA that will only be used for voice tranmissions. I dont need textmail or email and Im tired of lugging around a separate PDA and a phone. However, the people at Telus told me the following
1 For me to transfer to a different phone, it must have worked with telus previously.
2 All current new PDA phones require signing up on their data plan, thereby making me pay $25 to $80 per month more on top of paying for a voice plan. Is this true?
Are there any older PDA phones that I could use if I found one on EBay etc.? If there is such a phone, what do I look for to tell me that I can use it? Do I look for a CDMA phone?

CDMA phone is one thing, but you have to make sure that Telus will be able to connect to it and give you the service you want. CDMA phones are limited in compadability unlike GSM phones.

Web browsing on the phone is still not to its peak yet, that's why it's a little bit more expensive imo. If you need to use it, then no questions asked..but if you're using it for leasure..it's the price to pay..
