My wife lost her phone and the contract is up in December 2006. Apparently I'm out at least $200.00 or so if I want another phone. Does anyone have any suggestions/advice to get me out of this mess? I have to get another phone but prefer NOT to go with Bell again. Thanks!

You can call your service provider to report the phone lost/stolen. What that does is that they will block the phone so no one can misuse it. However you must find a replacement phone; for most providers will charge you your monthly fee or some small fee. You can pay the small fees until December..and cancel it afterwards. Paying a little is better than paying for a phone bill you didn't use. Hope this helps.
