Has anyone experienced a problem with the backlight and ringtone notification on the Samsung Cleo?

Today my backlight stuck on for some reason and I can't get it to turn off so my front display light is always on, does anyone know how to turn it off? Tried looking in manual couldn't find any info.

Also, has anyone had any problems with texting? Sometimes it tells me I have a msg when I don't and it won't go away unless I delete the entire convo thread.

I know a few people with a cleo and they have to "slam" the phone closed or it will not realize the phone is closed and continue to stay lit. Apparently the switch in the phone is not that well built.

Also, the phone has some SW bugs:
If a text is received while composing a message the message sometimes is sent to the drafts folder, but sometimes lost entirely. At best it is a real pain if you have needy friends that bombard you with multiple subjects at a time instead of just using their voice.

We also learned painfully that if you ask to have the contacts from another phone added from another phone, your previous contacts will be lost. Apparently this phone defaults to erasing your old contacts.

OMG. same!! my cleo does that same exact thing, so when i went to the place i bought it from they told me that it was damaged and that you would have to buy a new phone, but i forgot to ask them if there was a reset button. but either way i dont think that theres a reset button...

My Cleo is constantly will turn on, flash the samsung loading bar, the bar will fill, itll go to that swirly blue thing for samsung, turn black, and repeat the whole thing over and over again it WONT STOP. I can't get it on to do anything else so I can't get it to turn on to try and reset everything. Anyway, is there some sort of reset button somewhere??

I just got the new cleo and I cannot change the outer sreen. I followed Devilsown's instructions from March 22nd, but when I assign a image I get the reply"please assign screensaver first" The screen saver is applied. What now?

This is not a reply this is a question. I have a Samsung Cleo and I can't get the vibrate mode to go off on my phone. I have followed the instructions in the manual and still it comes back on even if I have shut it off and turne it back on. Can someone help me please, this is becoming annoying.

OMG thank you soo much !
youre a life saver !!

and a master reset resets all the settings in the phone, alot of phones will let you wipe the device or just put it back to the default look.

Powering off worked, no sure why I didn't think of that! thanks for your help!

Thank you, I have tried those already, didn't work. What is a master reset?

There is also what you would call a master reset that may help.

If the following doesn"t work then you may need to try powering it off/on and see what happens, if neither work you may need to exchange it, but here's what I found:

90 Settings
Changing the Outer Screen
Your new phone offers options for what you see on the outer display screen.
To change the Screen Saver:
1. Press for Menu.
2. Select Settings > Display > Outer Screen.
3. Select Screen Saver.
4. Press the navigation key and select Preset Images, My Downloads, or
Main LCD Pic. Press the navigation key left, right, up, or down until the
desired image is displayed.
5. Press the left softkey for Assign.
Changing the LCD Brightness and Contrast
You can change the brightness and contrast of the main and external LCDs, making
the screens brighter or dimmer.

1. Press for Menu.
2. Select Settings > Display.

backlit after any key press is made.
To change the backlight setting:
