Does a Sony Ericsson W80 charger from Canada also work in Europe?

I got a Sony Ericsson W80! quad phone that I bought her in Walmart in Canada. The charger was included that I can plug into the wall socket or the car, but here we have alternative current whereas in Europe they have direct current. We plan to go to Europe three years or so from now, which will be after my contact runs out. Does this mean that I will have to buy a charger that works with direct current when we get to Europe or will the one I have work just as well? It is the one that plugs in at the bottom.

Yeah you will have to buy some type of converter to be able to charge your phone..

You need to do some research on electronic standards. Europe is NOT direct current it is mostly 220 volts, every country has its own plug design, TVs use a different standard as well and DVD players may have a region lock preventing you from playing a American DVD movie etc.
