The new 128GB iPad is now available in Apple's online stores in the U.S. and UK. Other than the added storage space, the device -- priced at $799 for the Wi-Fi only version and $929 for the wi Fi + cellular version -- has the same specs and features of the fourth-generation iPad with Retina display that was launched in November. According to Apple's Web site, the Wi-Fi model and the AT&T version ship within 1 to 3 business days while the Verizon and Sprint models ship within 3 to 5 days of a new order. The release of the 128GB iPad is just days before the Feb. 9 launch of the Microsoft Surface Pro, a tablet that's able to run traditional third-party desktop programs.
What Else You Need To Know
- The iPad 4 features a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel Retina display on its 9.7-inch screen, improved 4G LTE, an A6X chip that offers up to twice the CPU performance of previous model, a Lightning connector, and an improved 720p HD front-facing camera.
- The 128GB model is targeted at those using the iPad for business and require larger storage capacity than most.
