Acer has unveiled the Liquid E1, which has decent specs for a mid-range handset. According to info from its China debut, the Liquid E1's specs boasts of a dual-core 1 GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly operating system, DTS digital audio support, a built-in FM radio, and a giant 4.5-inch display. The device's IPS display only offers a decent - but not high-end - 960 x 540 pixels (245 pixels per inch), which is nowhere near as sharp as the Galaxy S3 (306 ppi) or iPhone 5 (326 ppi). Thus, while its 5-MP camera can record 720p video, the E1 can't play the video natively because it doesn’t have a full-HD screen.
What Else You Need To Know
- Acer has not provided details about pricing and availability of the device.
- The E1 is expected to have its European debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at end of February.
