Acer Iconia W700, Like Other Windows 8 Tablets, Selling for $800

For $799.99, you can buy four Google Nexus 7 tablets or the same number of Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablets. Acer's and other device-makers Windows 8 tablets are pricey, although they offer more features and claim to be more powerful than budget tablets. The Acer Iconia W700, which would have a $799.99 price tag, has an 11.6-inch IPS display (complete with 1,920x1,080 full HD resolution), a Bluetooth keyboard, a docking cradle that turns the device to a laptop, an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3 processor, 64GB of SSD storage, a front-facing webcam, a rear-facing 5-megapixel digital camera with 1080p video-recording capabilities, plus a Micro-HDMI-to-VGA adapter and a protective case.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The Asus Vivo Tab and the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 also have a starting price of $799.99.
  • The market leading Apple iPad 3 has an entry-level price of $499.
