Air Canada launches Passbook Support for boarding passes
iPhone In Canada Blog

Air Canada has reportedly started offering iOS Passbook support for the benefit of all existing customers that opt to purchase their tickets online. According to one iPhoneInCanada reader with the online handle @aaron604, unique URLs are sent via text message to those who buy their tickets online. These URLs will allow the recipients to "add" Passbook versions of their tickets for later use. It's worth noting here that upon getting to the airport, users may not get a boarding pass notification. In any case, this is a great service. Score one for convenience.

I'm not going to hold out much hope that the Passbook updated version of the Air Canada app includes, you know, an actual native app, but the sooner large organizations learn that loading a web view into an app just isn't good enough, the better it'll be for everyone. - Rene Ritchie, iMore
