Amazon is on track to release the Kindle Phone in the second half of 2013, and the first version would have a 4.7-inch display, according to the latest reports.
The online retailer was originally working on a handset with a 4.3-inch display, aiming for a second quarter release.
In what could indicate as a revised timetable, Digitimes reports that Amazon at the last minute has scrapped plans for a 4.3-inch display in response to the growing demand for larger devices among consumers.
Amazon is also working on improving the specs of the upcoming smartphone.
