Last week we heard rumors that online giant Amazon was working on its own smartphone to compete with Google, Apple and others. That rumor is heating up even more today thanks to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
According to WSJ sources, Amazon is already working with parts suppliers in Asia and could begin rolling out an Amazon phone with a 4 or 5 inch screen and Texas Instruments processor as early as this year.
Amazon has had good success with the Fire, which has locked 54% of the Android tablet market, and its likely a phone from Bezo's and crew would represent an interesting smartphone option as well. Time will tell but if you'll allow us to speculate, we'd say you could pencil an Amazon Phone onto your Christmas list now.
