The 10-inch Toshiba Thrive can now be upgraded from its default operating system of Android 3.0 Honeycomb to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich courtesy of a free OTA download that is available to all users from all around the world today. Although the latest version of the Android software is now Jelly Bean, a free update to Android 4.0 ICS is not so bad either. Based on user feedback, the update seems to have sped things up a little in terms of app and menu navigation. If you've got a 10-inch Toshiba Thrive Android tablet of your own, you should get an update notification automatically. Users of the 7-inch Thrive, however, may need to wait a little longer.
What Else You Need To Know:
- The 10-inch Toshiba Thrive is one of the thickest Android tablets that ever came out in the market, featuring a full-size USB port and HDMI port.
- There is no indication that Toshiba will release an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for either the 10-inch version or the 7-inch version of the Thrive Android tablet.
