Apple has confirmed that its iMessage and FaceTime services are not currently working for some users. On Apple's System Status page, both iMessage and FaceTime are listed as having issues with a note underneath each that reads "Some users affected." All other services are up though. "iPhones" and "iMessage" have been trending on Twitter in relation to the outages. A number of iMessage users are unable to send messages at all, while iPhone users have claimed that the usual Apple-to-Apple free messaging service is defaulting to regular text messages over cellular networks. Apple, which has not offered a reason for the outage, said the problem began shortly around 8 p.m. GMT time on Tuesday (3 p.m. EDT).
