GSM Dome

As expected, Apple has officially announced this year's next-generation iPhone, deciding to call it simply the iPhone 5. It comes with a number of major improvements over its predecessor, most notably its larger and higher-resolution 4-inch screen with 326ppi at 1136x640 pixels. Despite weighing less than the iPhone 4S and having a thinner profile at 7.6mm, the iPhone 5 also features a faster A6 CPU, an improved 8MP camera, a better microphone, and 4G LTE network support. Even the software has been upgraded, as the iPhone 5 runs iOS6 by default. Apple rates the standard battery as good for over 200 hours of standby and up to 8 hours of talk time in 3G. Prices start at $199 and pre-orders begin on Friday, September 14th.
