Apple may launch next iPhone with 4G LTE with help from Korean carriers

A report on Korea Times has it that Apple is currently in talks with South Korea's SK Telecom and KT for a possible version of the next-generation iPhone with 4G LTE networking technology. Both South Korean carriers are apparently trying to arrive at a deal with Apple in order to launch the next iPhone with 4G capabilities in order to boost sales and the overall rate of adoption. Different networks operate on different frequencies for 4G LTE, so it may take a while for Apple to finalize the necessary internal design. But an iPhone with 4G LTE remains a distinct possibility for the near future.

What Else You Need To Know:

- SK Telecom's LTE network operates in the 800MHz frequency while KT's is on the 1.8GHz frequency. For comparison, in the US, Verizon's own LTE network sits at the 700-megahertz frequency while AT&T uses both the 700-megahertz frequency and the 2.1-gigahertz frequency.
