Microsoft has confirmed that device-makers Asus, Dell, Lenovo and Samsung are releasing tablets that run on Windows RT (the ARM-based version of Windows 8). Microsoft itself is releasing its own branded tablet, the Microsoft Surface. Officially announced so far are Asus Tablet 600 (RT), Microsoft Surface RT, and the ThinkPad Tablet 2 (Windows 8). Microsoft said "thin and light" Windows RT devices will have "all day battery life".
What Else You Need To Know:
- More OEMs will be unveiling new products as Windows 8 and Windows RT launch scheduled for Oct. 26 approaches.
- Microsoft said it has seen 8 hours to 13 hours of HD video playback time on Windows RT PCXs, and 320 hours to 409 hours (more than 13 to 17 days) battery life when in connected-standby mode.
- Microsoft reportedly did not tie up with Nokia for the Surface tablet due to "branding".

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Will Run Windows RT
Lenovo already has planned the IdeaTab Tablet 2 which will run Windows 8 Pro and will be targeting both the business and home users. Lenovo has also a second version of the Yoga i the pipeline, one that will have a battery life twice that of the Intel version.
