Visitors of the mobile industry's biggest event, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 25th to 28th, should "embrace the metallic miracle" and see "the next mobile transformation", ASUS says in its teasers and MWC event page. A company video shows a metallic UFO soaring over Barcelona and landing on the Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona, Spain, as the message "ultimate craftsmanship. today" resonates on the screen. The Taiwanese device-maker, known for manufacturing the popular Google Nexus 7 and crowding shelves with budget tablets like the $149 MemoPad 7, will likely unveil an all-metal version of its Android-running Transformer tablets or the rumored Fonepad.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Asus has been rumored to be unveiling low-cost Fonepad, an Android-running tablet that sports a single-core Intel Atom processor and an aluminum body.
