It looks like AT&T has had a change of heart regarding FaceTime over cellular, as it appears to have lifted all restrictions on the service in order to allow customers to fully enjoy it. While AT&T customers needed to have a mobile share plan to use FaceTime over cellular in the past, this no longer seems to be a requirement. Now even those with old plans are able to use FaceTime over cellular without encountering any problems whatsoever. AT&T hasn't made an official statement regarding the changes yet, but overall it is seen by a good move by its iPhone-using subscribers.
What Else You Need To Know
- There is some speculation that what's happening may be nothing more than a bug in the system, however, it does make sense for AT&T to make the service available for all subscribers regardless of what data plan they are on.

As for what happens to subscribers who switched off of unlimited data plans or other less expensive options in order to have access to FaceTime over cellular networks, it remains unclear if the carrier will allow users to switch back.
