AT&T Launches Digital Life Home Security Service

AT&T finally launched its Digital Life home automation service. The service, which marks AT&T's first foray into home security, will be available in 15 markets this week and will be available in 50 markets by the end of this year. The entry-level package costs $29.99 a month plus $149.99 for equipment and installation while the pricier package costs $39.99 a month and $249.99 for the gear and installation. The basic package includes 24/7 home monitoring, a wireless keypad, a remote some sensors and an indoor siren. Add-on devices, including water leakage sensors, wireless cameras and thermostats are available for purchase can be added to the plan for a monthly fee. Everything can be controlled through Digital Life mobile app that's available on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Digital Life won't require a customer to have an existing wireless or broadband service plan from AT&T to purchase the service.
  • The service will be available this week in Atlanta GA, Austin, Houston, and Dallas TX, Boulder and Denver CO, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Riverside CA, Miami FL, Philadelphia PA, Seattle WA, St Louis MI, and "select areas of the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area."
