AT&T and Samsung release Galaxy S III Jelly Bean upgrade software

Samsung and AT&T have just announced the availability of the official Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III. This comes a full day after users of the said smartphone started noticing that the software upgrade was already available for download via Kies. According to Samsung, the official update won't be available for OTA (over-the-air) downloads. Instead, users need to rely on Kies in order to get it for their devices.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The Kies software can be used to download the Samsung Galaxy S III software update with either a Mac or a PC.
  • The Jelly Bean update is about 738MB in size and comes with TouchWiz build number I747UCDLJ3.
