With the advent of its new tablets, Barnes & Noble cut prices of the Nook Color and Nook Tablet by $10 and $20, respectively. The Nook Color (7-inch screen, 800 MHz single-core CPU, Android 2.2 OS) will now cost just $139 while the 8GB and 16GB Nook Tablets (7-inch screen, 1 GHz dual-core chip, customized Android 2.3) will now cost only $159 and $179, respectively. This is the second time in three months the book retailer has cut the prices of the slates.
What Else You Need To Know
- B&N is releasing starting November 8th the $199 7-inch Nook HD and $269 HD+.
- The Nook HD features the highest quality display in the 7-inch category with a 1440 x 900 pixel resolution at 243 ppi, weighs just 340 grams, is powered by a customized version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is powered by a dual-core processor.
- The Nook HD+ features a 9-inch screen and claims to be the lightest full HD tablet ever invented, weighing just 515 grams (iPad 3 weighs 652 grams) and packs a resolution of 1920 x 1280 at 256 ppi (in line with new iPad's 264 ppi Retina display).
