The next Google Nexus smartphone could come from Korean phone maker LG, according to rumors that first started spreading online shortly after the launch of the Android-powered Optimus G. The Optimus G is the latest flagship model in LG's Android smartphone lineup, and would serve well as the basic for an upcoming Google Nexus device as its main features include a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera, 4.7-inch WXGA IPS+ touchscreen, and 32GB internal storage.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Although launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the LG Optimus G could arrive with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by the time that it actually arrives in the market.
  • Other manufacturers that have worked with Google to create Nexus devices in the past include HTC, Samsung, and Asus.
