Google is reportedly working on a new version of its Maps application for the Apple iPhone 5 and other iOS 6 devices, if information coming from unnamed sources being cited in a bunch of recent online reports are to be believed. According to people who are currently involved in the making of the updated Google Maps app, it is scheduled to be released some time before the year ends. This news comes after Google CEO Eric Schmidt made comments that implied Google won't be releasing a new Maps app for iOS any time soon. Apparently, Apple made the decision to take Maps out of iOS 6 without informing Google beforehand.

- Google is reportedly updating its Maps application to include a 3D mapping feature by combining the data it has from Google Maps and Google Earth.
