There won't be any high-end Nexus tablet for this year's holiday season. The 10-inch successor to the Google Nexus 7 will only be available in the first half of 2013, according to reporting by CNET, which cited unnamed sources. Co-developed by Samsung, the Google Nexus 10 is rumored to sport a 10.1-inch screen and a super high-resolution display that tops Apple's third-generation iPad.
What Else You Need To Know
- The Nexus 10 is expected to have a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution display, which gives the device 299 pixels per inch, compared with the highly touted 2,048 x 1,536, 264 PPI on the 9.7-inch Retina iPad.
- Asus manufactured the Google Nexus 7 that was released in July. Samsung was Google's hardware partner for the Galaxy Nexus smart phone.
- If released in the latter part of the first half of 2013, the high-end Nexus 10 would compete with the successor to the $499 iPad 3. New iterations of the iPad have been unveiled by Apple in March every year since 2010.
