Google has rolled out a new tool that may come in handy for those who want to buy a Nexus 4 smartphone or Nexus 7 tablet in person. Launched in November, the Nexus 4 saw huge demand because of its impressive specs and low $300 off-contract price tag but the device immediately sold out at the Google Play store. Now that Google and LG have fixed the supply issues, Google wants to make the process simple for consumers who want to check out the Nexus 4 at a brick-and-mortar store. After punching your address or zip code, the Nexus 4 retail finder will use Google Maps to show you the retailers that sell the Nexus 4 within 50 miles from your location. The catch is that the tool is not showing any inventory levels, so people so some phone calls may be necessary before heading out.

  • The Nexus 4 retail finder sits on the Nexus 4's hub page at the Google Play Store.
  • Aside from its inability to show real-time stock, the locator only finds T-Mobile locations for now despite the fact that Best Buy, Walmart, Costco and other third-party retailers are also selling the Nexus 4.
  • The Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch display with 320 pixels per inch, a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, 8 or 16 GB of internal storage, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, an 8MP rear camera, a micro-SIM card tray, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
