Handheld Nautiz X1 launched today as world's toughest smartphone

Swedish company Handheld Group today launched the Nautiz X1, the latest rugged handheld model that lays claim to the title of toughest smartphone in the world. It is built to MIL-STD-810G military standards and is said to be capable of enduring vibration, extreme temperatures, humidity, and sudden drops. It also has IP-67 certification, which means it is not only dust damage resistant but water proof as well. It can be ordered now for €699/$899 but will only become available starting January 2013.

  • According to information coming from Handheld Group itself, the Nautiz X1 is capable of running either Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5.
