Hints of Nokia Lumia 1000 with 41-MP Sensor, Other Windows Phones Emerge
Other

Nokia is reportedly planning to release the Lumia EOS, a Windows Phone version of the Symbian-running Nokia 808 PureView. The PureView stunned audiences last year when it touted a then unheard of 41-megapixel sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS) technology. The Lumia 1000, which could be an international codename for the Lumia EOS, has already appeared in database records of Chinese Mobile. As for the lower-end spectrum, Nokia is said to be planning the Lumia 720 and 520, submissions to the Indonesia's version of the FCC confirmed. Succeeding the Lumia 710 and 510, the Lumia 720 is expected to be a mid-ranger while the Lumia 520 could be a basic smartphone. Nokia has not issued an official announcement.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Finland-based Nokia sold 4.4 million Lumia phones in the fourth quarter.
  • Although Nokia has lost market share to Apple and Samsung, the Finnish handset maker is still popular in emerging markets, including Indonesia.
