HTC has sent invites for a February 19th press event in New York City, suggesting they'll show off "what's next." No other details were provided by the Taiwanese smartphone vendor but it's expected to be the upcoming flagship HTC M7 Android device. It has been widely reported that the M7 would be offered Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, which would explain the U.S. event. HTC's new handset has been touted to feature several "industry-first" specs and would be the first to feature HTC Sense 5.0, which offers an easier to use UI, a redesigned lock-screen and HTC apps.

Specs for the M7 still look to include a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core 1.7GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 2300 mAh battery, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 12 megapixel rear-facing camera. The handset is also expected to arrive running Jelly Bean with Sense 5. Bottom line here, assuming this event plays out the way it looks, we will soon have a confirmed set of specs for the M7. That and, hopefully some details in terms of carriers and release dates.
