A new feature phone called the Huawei Summit is now available to T-Mobile customers in the US for only $50. This is after a $150 instant discount and a $50 mail-in rebate. The Summit may look like a smartphone, and in fact the official photos show it to be running Google's Android OS, but it seems that it is anything but. There is no indication in the official documentation that it's anything more than a souped up feature phone. So even though it may look like it might be a good entry-level smartphone, it's actually just a model for advanced feature phone users.
What Else You Need To Know
- The Huawei Summit features a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and HSPA+ data.

That said, it smells like Android but we can’t really tell and thus can’t recommend you buying one of these. You’re better off paying slightly more to get a better device.- Dusan Belic, Intomobile
We’ve had some pretty good indicators that the Huawei Summit would be available before the end of October and that appears to be the case, and its certainly an interesting take on the Android platform.- David Beren, TmoNews
