iPad 4 Pre-Orders Still Sell Out Despite Outrage
Tech Radar

Despite some outrage at the announcement of a new tablet just seven months after the iPad 3 and incremental updates, Apple has sold out the stock allocated for iPad 4 units pre-ordered prior to the November 4th official release date. Apple fans who signed pre-orders late are being told they will have to wait an extra week, or wait in line at the Apple Store this Friday. The iPad 4 is just a minor upgrade over the third-generation iPad -- an improved 4G LTE, a new Apple designed A6X chip that offers up to twice the CPU performance of previous model, a Lightning connector introduced with the iPhone 5, and an improved 720p HD front-facing camera.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The new iPad 4, like its predecessor, has a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel Retina display on its 9.7-inch screen and an introductory price of $499.
  • Before the October 23rd launch of the iPad 4, Apple only introduced one new iPad every year since 2010.
