iPad mini "Confirmed" by Case Photos

Apple could be releasing an iPad mini, a 7-inch version of the market leading tablet, if photos of alleged leaked casings from China end up accurate. The leaked photos show a hole-free casing, implying that the device won't have a rear-facing camera, like other budget tablets. The iPad's baby sister, if ever launched by Apple, is expected to compete with the Kindle Fire, Google Nexus 7 tablet and other $200 tablets that are offered by Android device-makers. The iPad mini is rumored to be released later this year.

What Else You Need To Know:

- There have been reports about an iPad mini early this year but Apple only released a 9.7-inch iPad this April.

- Late Apple CEO Steve Jobs previously called a 7-inch tablet "dead on arrival".

- Apple does not comment on upcoming devices.
