Other than scheduling an October 23rd media event, Apple has not provided details on the iPad mini, thus rumors on the miniature version of the iPad continue to gain ground. Reports from 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman and other sites claim that the iPad mini would have an entry price of $329, making the device $60 cheaper than the iPad 2 and 33% cheaper than the $499 iPad 3. A screenshot allegedly taken from Europe electronics retailing giant Media Market reveals that the iPad mini will come in eight different models, in 8, 16, 32, and 64 GB variants, and with options for cellular connectivity.
What Else You Need To Know
- The iPad mini is expected to be an iPad 2 shrunken down to a 7.85-inch display: just a slightly upgraded processor, non-Retina display and same 1024 x 768 resolution.
- The iPad mini is also expected to have a brushed aluminum backside, have a Lightning connector, and be thinner than the existing iPad 3.
