iPad Mini Starting at $300 in October?

Apple is selling a 7-inch version of the 9.7-inch iPad for $300 starting in October and expects to sell 8 million units in the final 3 months of the year according to a research note by a Jefferies & Co. analyst.

What Else You Need To Know:

- The iPad mini would compete with the $200 7-inch Google Nexus 7, as well as the 10-inch Microsoft Surface RT tablet that's readied for an October release.

- Reports say that the iPad mini won't have better specs than the third generation iPad in order to keep costs low.

Analyst Claims ‘iPad Mini’ Could Go on Sale by October Priced at $300  

Bloomberg reported in early July an ‘iPad Mini’ would be coming in October, following by the Wall Street Journal noting their own story about production of a smaller iPad already under way, set for a simultaneous launch with the ‘iPhone 5′.
