Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 with Windows 8 Pro Priced at $799
Android Central

Lenovo's enterprise tablets slated for release October 26th won't be cheaper than the $199 Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire or even the $499 iPad. Lenovo reps confirmed to WPCentral that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 running Windows 8 Pro would cost $799. The price already includes the full Microsoft Office 2013 suite and keyboard, although it has not been confirmed whether the optional dock with three USB ports, HDMI-out, and an Ethernet jack is part of the package. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 pricing is in line with Microsoft's assertion that Windows 8 Pro tablets will compete in price more with Ultrabooks than with consumer tablets.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The Acer Iconia Tab W510 costs around $870 with its keyboard and Asus' Vivo Tab costs almost $1,000.

  • The current ThinkPad Tablet on shelves has an Android OS.

That price will apparently include a keyboard, which could make it a slightly better deal than Microsoft's own Surface Pro tablet, which may cost $799 with an additional $199 for its keyboard cover. - Sean Portnoy , ZDNet
The ThinkPad 2 is geared for enterprise over consumers, so the higher price tag may make more sense as this includes just about everything you can imagine, especially when compared to the iPad (although the latter admittedly has a much nicer display) - Daniel Rubino, WPCentral

This model is more of an enterprise affair, so its price can’t be associated with consumer products with Windows 8.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 runs Windows 8 Pro, includes keyboard for $799

It's clear that the Windows 8 Pro tablet pitch is that you'll prefer the mobility of the slate over the mobility of a thin laptop, even if you don't get all the accoutrements you'd have carrying an Ultrabook around.

Some sources are also reporting that Lenovo is including the full Office 2013 suite. By “full” it’s safe to assume that the company is pre-loading the 60-day trial version of office that most OEMs install on their retail-boxed systems.

Presumably buying the tablet without the keyboard will lower the price, but such a price point was not specified.
