LG to Show Off Optimus G Pro at May 1 Event
PhoneDog

LG is hosting an event in New York City on the first of May and it appears that it has spilled all the beans. LG had been teasing that they’ll “share the genius” but now it's confirming that it will announce the Optimus G Pro at the event, which will talk about when, where, and how much it will cost to own the new handset. And it turns out that the "genius" the company will be celebrating stands for Atlas Genius, as the indie rock band will be holding a concert at the event.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Announced outside the U.S. in February, Optimus G Pro touts a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 2.1-megapixel shooter on the front, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and 4G LTE connectivity.
  • Software tweaks in the Android Jelly Bean running device include dual recording -- that allows video to be recorded with the front and rear cameras simultaneously -- and virtual reality panorama, which turns shots into 360 degree images.
