Microsoft is planning to take certain features out of its Office 2013 RT for Windows RT software in order to help users avoid dealing with issues on reliability and battery life. This is according to an unnamed source cited in a report that first appeared on The Verge. Microsoft Office 2013 RT for Windows RT will ship in Preview form, and it will effectively be a gimped version of the final software that won't be available before the year ends.. This limited, Preview version of Office 2013 RT for Windows RT can be upgraded to the full version of the software that will be released in 2013.

What Else You Need To Know:

- Microsoft Office 2013 RT for Windows RT Preview will lack certain features such as macros, third-party add-ons, and VBA support, among other things.

- The Home & Student version of the Office 2013 RT Preview software will come pre-installed on all Windows RT devices.
