Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi users in the US are about to get a free Android 4.1 upgrade for their tablet. This comes as part of an official software test that will begin to roll out later today. It will make the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi, which was the world's first Honeycomb Android tablet, one of the first few devices running the Android version more commonly known as Jelly Bean.
What You Need To Know:
- Users of the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi were first promised back at Google I/O 2012 that they would get an update to Jelly Bean along with the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S.
- Those who signed up to become part of the software test can expect to receive a free update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean some time later today.
- Users are advised not to contact Motorola support in case any issues arise as part of the software test, and should instead post all their feedback in the private community where other test participants can also see it.
- Motorola XOOM 4G LTE users will not be able to upgrade their own devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean just yet.
