Mozilla OS developer phone gets the spotlight

As Mozilla continues to build up its very own mobile operating system to compete with the likes of Google, Apple, and Microsoft in the smartphone market, it has decided to enter a partnership with ZTE to bring its first devices to market by early 2013. The guys over at Geek.com got their hands on a Mozilla OS developer phone and it reportedly features a 1.5GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, microUSB connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 480x800 pixel resolution touchscreen display. Mozilla decided not to share any other information about the device.

What Else You Need To Know

  • In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, ZTE Executive VP He Shiyou confirmed that his company will be releasing phones powered by Mozilla's HTML 5-based OS in early 2013.
