Earlier this week, it was discovered that the Nexus 4 had a secret 4G LTE chip hidden among its other electronic components. Now, some clever individuals over at XDA-Developers have shown that it's possible to activate it via a simple tweak that involves accessing the Nexus 4 debugging menu by entering the following code via the dialer: #*#4636#*. Several reports from users of the Nexus 4 have confirmed that it is indeed possible to activate the dormant 4G LTE feature, but it only works with LTE band 4--1700MHz and 2100MHz--under Rogers and Telus in Canada.
What Else You Need To Know
- There is some speculation that Google decided not to publicize the Nexus 4's 4G LTE feature due to it being limited to work only in some areas of Canada, or wherever LTE band 4 is supported.
- The Nexus 4 is Google's latest flagship Android smartphone and is made by LG Electronics.
