Nintendo’s Tablet-Like Wii U Console to Debut December in Japan

The Nintendo Wii U, the video game console that has a 6-inch touchscreen that will give tablet-like controls, will debut in Japan December 8th. The console's iPad-like controller called the GamePad works like a typical tablet: it can browse the Internet, stream videos from YouTube, and play games when not connected to a TV and the console. The basic set, which comes with 8GB of storage, will be priced in Japan at 25,250 yen ($337). A premium version, which will have 32GB, is priced at 31,500 yen ($405).
