Nokia has announced Nokia Music+, a paid and ad-free version to its music service for Nokia Lumia Windows Phones. Nokia's Mix Radio app is already offered for free. But Music+, priced at $3.99 in the U.S. and 3.99 euro in Europe, provides unlimited downloads, streams up to 8 times the quality, access to lyrics, and a web app for playing music at users' PCs. Music+ removes Mix Radio's limit of downloading four one-hour mixes of music that are playable without an Internet connection. With unlimited downloads, subscribers will be able to save a massive supply of offline music. The service will roll out in 24 countries in the first quarter of 2013.

- Music+ is being packaged as a cheaper alternative to Spotify or Slacker.
- Users can subscribe through in-app purchase using a credit card or via operator billing if it is available in the country.

We were surprised by the high quality of streaming music from Nokia Music, even over a 2.5G connection. Nokia Music+ allows you to download music at eight times the existing quality. Plus, you can set rules to only download high quality when you’re on WiFi, for example.
