The highly-anticipated release of the HTC EVO 4G LTE is just around the corner, with Sprint announcing today that the phone will be available starting Friday, May 18. Pre-orders for the device, which will cost $200 with a two-year service agreement, can already be placed on Sprint's web site.

Angry Birds Catapults Itself To One Billion Downloads
A little footnote — no, actually, a big footnote — to Rovio’s news earlier this week that revenues had increased by more than tenfold in 2011: the games developer says that its Angry Birds games have now passed the one billion download mark. The company has been milking the Angry Birds brand since first launching its iOS version of the game in December 2009, and in addition to a number of versions of the original game, there is now also an extensive merchandising operation that contributed 30 percent of all of Rovio’s sales for 2011.

The location-based service searches for and makes restaurant reservations at nearby places, from casual spots to fancier restaurants. Looking for reservations using the app is pretty straightforward. To find a place to dine, select your preferred city and neighborhood. Then choose how many people will be in your party and what type of food you want.

Samsung And Apple Both Drop Patent Claims As Talks Of A Settlement Continue
Looks like both Apple and Samsung are making headway in their settlement talks, even if they are just baby steps. According to FOSS patents, Apple filed litigation on Monday cutting their number of patent infringement claims against Samsung nearly in half, and five hours later Samsung agreed to drop five of their twelve patent claims against Apple. Although, Samsung still argues that Apple’s case against the Korean manufacturer is still far too big to go to trial this summer, and wants Apple to drop more patents.
