The Samsung Exynos 5 Dual System-on-a-Chip (SoC) has been revealed to be a worthy successor to the solution currently in use in Samsung's top-of-the-line mobile devices like the Galaxy S III. The Samsung Exynos 5 Dual a.k.a. Exynos 5250 SoC will offer vastly improved number crunching and graphics processing capabilities, as well as support for better hardware and increased battery life. The platform will be based on a dual-core ARM Cortex A15 chip clocked at 1.7GHz and will utilize a quad-core Mali T604 GPU. It boasts support for resolutions of up to 2560x1600, Wi-Fi displays, 1080p 60FPS video playback, USB 3.0, and more. Watch for information on the first Samsung Exynos 5 Dual-equipped devices to drop some time next year.

What Else You Need To Know:

- Exynos 5 Dual will up the ante in mobile gaming by including support for OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenCL 1.1, DX11, and stereoscopic 3D.

- Samsung is expected to first utilize the Exynos 5 Dual in one of its upcoming 11-inch Android tablets.
