The next generation Samsung Galaxy S device will carry a hardcore 1.8 GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.8GHz, as well as a wireless charging feature, according to multiple reports. Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected feature a promising 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD, 440ppi display, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, and 2MP front facing camera capable of 720p video capture. The Android-running S4 is expected to be officially unveiled in February and released globally a month later.

  • Announced at the CES 2013, the Exynos 5 Octa is an eight-core chip that handles multiple tasks without any issue, spends up to 70% less battery life than current quad-core CPUs, and provides twice the 3D performance of anything currently in the market.
  • The Exynos 5 Octa packs four high-powered Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.2GHz, switching cores depending on the computational horsepower needed.
  • The supposed Galaxy S4 has appeared on benchmarking site Antutu Benchmarks, confirming that the device would have an Octa processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, and the latest version of Android Jelly Bean.
