Android Police

Samsung, the maker of the high-end Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S 3, has launched two low-cost devices as part of its bid to dominate every single niche in the smartphone world. The 3.27-inch Galaxy Young and the 3.5-inch Galaxy Frame will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and feature a 1GHz processor along with 4GB internal memory, HSPA, new TouchWiz, various Hub services and 1300mAh battery. The Korean electronics giant has not announced pricing and specific availability of the two budget phones.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Aside from their differences in screen size, the Frame sports slightly better features with a 480 x 320 resolution display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, Bluetooth 4.0, and optional NFC.
  • The Galaxy Young has no front-facing camera, just has a 3MP rear camera, an outdated Bluetooth 3.0.
  • Both models will be available with dual-SIM variants, a popular feature in the emerging markets.
