Samsung's ATIV Windows RT Tablet Unveiled, Has Dual-Core CPU

Samsung unveiled at the IFA 2012 in Berlin the ATIV Tab, a 10.1-inch tablet running on Windows RT and powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Although it looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the ATIV Tab is not as powerful as the quad-core Android tablet and its display isn't as nice. The Ativ Tav boasts of a hairline finish, has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution display, weighs 570 grams, measures just 8.9 mm, has 2 GB of RAM a 8200 mAh battery, and comes with 32/64GB of storage. There's also a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9MP front camera, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, uHDMI, and USB 2.0 connectivity.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The device instantly boots up without lagging and is compatible with Windows-based PC devices and various accessories.
  • Like other Windows RT devices, the tablet is pre-installed with Office Home and Student 2013 RT.
  • The device is not running on the full-blown Windows 8, thus, it doesn't support any legacy third-party desktop apps.
