As part of its bid to dominate every single niche in the mobile phone arena, Samsung unveiled a new line of budget phones called Rex. The maker of the high-end Galaxy S phones and the Galaxy Note announced, namely, the Rex 70, 80 and 90, which sport capacitive touch screens, and the cheapest model, the Rex 60, which features a resistive display. All four phones are running on a Java-based OS rather than the Android software that's running the high-end Samsung phones, although the new budget devices will have Samsung's familiar TouchWiz UI overlay. The phones are being sold in India for $80 to $120 and will arrive in other emerging markets soon.
