Proof that Google Glass is hitting the mainstream is that Saturday Night Live featured Google's new computerized headset in its "Weekend Update" segment. Correspondent Randall Weeks (played by Fred Armisen) was supposed to show how, unlike a smartphone, using Google Glass is discrete. Instead, with loud volume allowing everyone around to know that Weeks was watching porn on the device, and with exaggerated head rolls to scroll the screen and to go back a page, the Weeks character proved otherwise.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Google first demonstrated Google Glass for the first time at the Google I/O conference in June 2012. This year's I/O developer conference is slated to begin May 15 in San Francisco.
