Sony LT30p Mint stars in preview posted ahead of official launch
Phone Arena

Sony's next flagship Android smartphone is the subject of a rather detailed hands-on preview posted to the web site Mobile-Review. This phone, officially called the Sony LT30p Mint, carries software and hardware features that make it on par with the industry's current best. Its greatest asset might be its 13-megapixel "stacked" camera sensor, which could prove to be a boon for mobile photography enthusiasts. Its other features include a 4.3-inch 720p HD screen, 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It is expected to be announced officially by Sony at a pre-IFA press event on August 29 and released to market some time in September.

What Else You Need To Know:

- The stacked camera, which improves a user's ability to take better photos in low light conditions, is a Sony development that was first announced earlier this year.

- Although the Sony LT30p Mint can be seen running Android Ice Cream Sandwich in the preview, an upgrade to Jelly Bean just in time for its release date might be in the cards.

- Current speculation put the price at around €560 or almost $690 USD, which is way too expensive considering the kinds of phones you can buy from Sony's competitors instead.

Other sources

As expected, the software is the Sony-skinned Ice Cream Sandwich, which is a relief, frankly – it would have been ridiculous to see yet another new phone Sony running Gingerbread out of the box. - Editor, GSM Arena
This time around Sony managed to keep up with the rest of the market and came up with a phone that has all the features its competitors have or at least how it looks on paper. - Martin Elm, Mobile-Review
