Sony unveiled at the IFA 2012 the VAIO Duo 11, an 11.6-inch tablet that has a sliding full QWERTY keyboard. The device is running on Windows 8, has a digital stylus for handwriting and sketching, and has a full-sized VGA connection. Apart from being a visual delight with its unusual angular black casing, the device has impressive specs that include a crisp and bright 1080p 11.6-inch display, a powerful Intel Core i7-3517U CPU paired with 4Gb or 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of SSD storage, HD-capable cameras at the front and back, and NFC for contactless payments.
What Else You Need To Know
- The Duo 11 weighs 1.3 kilograms, which is handy when compared to an ultrabook, but a bit heavier than Microsoft's Surface tablet.
- The high-end device will be released late October. Pricing has yet to be announced. Lower priced models of the Duo 11 will also be available.
